The Municipality of Bonne Esperance is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Municipal Inspector for a permanent/full time position.
Reporting to the General Director, the Municipal Inspector will oversee and enforce municipal standards and by-laws in the areas of public safety, urban planning, the roads and the environment.
The municipal inspector will be responsible for :
• Issuing permits and certificates related to urban planning by-laws, as well as updating and preparing reports;
• Road work; municipal street lighting;
• Overseeing municipal snow clearing
• Application of the by-laws on wastewater disposal and treatment;
• Application of municipal and provincial policies for water, sewer and waste management;
• Read and understand zoning, sewer and water system plans;
• Manage the work of technical service operators;
• Any other duties requested by immediate superior

Exigences et conditions
Profile required:
• Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent. All certification & experience will be considered
• Experience: Previous experience in municipal inspection or in a similar position is preferred.
• Technical skills: Knowledge of urban planning, public safety and construction management regulations.
• Personal skills: Discipline, self-reliant, ability to manage multiple priorities, and organizational skills.
• Interpersonal skills: Excellent communication, negotiation and listening skills. Sense of public service and ability to work as part of a team.
• Driver's license: Class 5 license required for field work.
• Good knowledge of a municipality's technical departments.
• French would be an asset
Avantages sociaux
Remuneration:Salary $55,000.00/year as a starting salary with a six (6) month probation period. The work schedule is 35 hours/week, with occasional on-call weekends.
