POSITION OVERVIEW
Co-animation of 90-minute sessions of the Ready, Set, Grow program with parents and
caretakers with their babies and toddlers to support the parents and their children’s
development. We have 2 positions available.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
● Reach English-speaking families
● Break isolation
● Create a space for parent discussion in a positive, open and welcoming environment
● Create a feeling of community and support with the group
● Promote language development
● Promote pre-literacy
● Reinforce the parent-child relationship
● Help parents gain skills and confidence
● Guide parents towards resources when needed
● Refer to outside resources when needed
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Ready, Set, Grow program partners are looking for an individual to co-animate the weekly
sessions with English-speaking parents and their babies and toddlers. The sessions include
songs, rhymes, stories, discussions and activities to reach the program objectives in support of
the parents and the children. The program is set up in a 10-week series and is taking place in
Danville or Val-des-Sources. Key responsibilities include:
● Weekly planning of sessions following the structured program
● Co-animating the program each week
● Contacting participants between sessions for follow-up
● Creating a welcoming ambiance for parents and children
● Teaching new rhymes, songs and stories
● Fostering relationships among group members
● Keeping attendance records and completing evaluations
● Setting up materials prior to sessions. Disinfecting and storing materials after sessions
The co-animators will benefit from continued support by program partners through the 10-week
series.

REQUIREMENTS
● Strong leadership skills

● Ability to work autonomously and in a team
● Good working knowledge of English and functional knowledge of French
● Excellent interpersonal skills
● Good organizational skills
● Awareness of the stresses and challenges of parenthood
● Having a repertoire of rhymes, songs and stories
● Group animation skills and experience are an asset
● Must be available for paid training sessions in December or early January
TERMS OF CONTRACT AND SALARY
● Contract for a total of 20 weeks from January to June 2022
● 4 hours per week during the series
● Salary: $840 Per 10-week series
● Possibility of renewal for 30 weeks in the 2022-23 school year
● The co-animators are hired by the Maison des familles FamillAction

SCHEDULE
The weekly sessions take place from 9:30-11 am on a weekday (day to be determined). The
co-animators are paid for 4 hours per week which includes planning the sessions, contacting the
participants to ensure their participation, setting up and putting away the material for each
session in addition to the 90 minutes of animation.

PROJECT PROMOTERS
The Ready, Set, Grow program is a new parent-child early years program created specifically
for the English-speaking families of the MRC des Sources and the MRC du Val-Saint-François.
The program is supported by a strong partnership that includes the CIUSSS-de-L’Estrie-CHUS,
Literacy in Action, the Maison de la famille Les Arbrisseaux, the Maison des familles
FamillAction, the Richmond, Danville and Drummondville Community Learning Centre,
Towshipppers’ Association and ValFamille.

$840 for 10 weeks ($21/hr)
